This photo was taken during a photography field trip to Joshua Tree where students learned, in groups, how to take photos of stars using DSLR cameras placed on a tripod. Lots of laughing and frustrated students. But, most importantly, loads of good memories were made on this adventure to Joshua Tree.

This photo was taken on Lake La Belle in Wisconsin. This is a dad and his kid having a crazy amount of fun flying over waves. The dad was worried at first, but he did it to be with his son and ended up having fun. This fits well with this year's theme of "Adventure" because the dad did something he wasn’t sure about because his son said it would be a fun new adventure they could do together. So to bond with his son he did it, and they experienced a fun new adventure together. What’s more adventurous then going 20 mph at waves, not knowing what’s going to happen and all you can do it hold on and enjoy the ride.

This photograph was taken in our driveway at home. My son loves to run up and down the driveway on rainy days and jump in all of the puddles. On this day in particular it was time for his cars to go on a road trip adventure down the driveway to get mail. Of course the driver had to traverse through all of the steep hills and huge lakes created by the rain. I love watching my son as he lets his imagination run wild on extraordinary adventures. He turns ordinary tasks into grand adventures!

The ski lift whirls around and sweeps me off my feet. Sailing through the air, the lift takes us higher and higher up the snow-covered mountain. We're in California, but this isn't a movie set; yet, we sit under the limelight of the sun shining down on us. Today is my first time learning how to snowboard. Most of the other kids are taking snowboarding lessons on the bunny slopes, but for me, I'm riding up the ski lift to the top of China Peak alongside my father. Nervously, I think, "Maybe I should have started on the bunny slopes," but no. I wanted to see the world from the top of the mountain! This is my adventure; this is my California.

We're in California, but this isn't a movie set; yet, we sit under the limelight of the sun shining down on us. Today is my first time learning how to snowboard. Most of the other kids are taking snowboarding lessons on the bunny slopes, but for me, I'm riding up the ski lift to the top of China Peak alongside my father. Nervously, I think, "Maybe I should have started on the bunny slopes," but no. I wanted to see the world from the top of the mountain! This is my adventure; this is my California.
My family went on a trip to Yosemite. I took the photo with a leading line that sends your eyes into the Yosemite tunnel view and it makes you ask what adventure will come next. Perspective was an important focus for me in this shot. This was a rare occasion when my family went on an adventure.

This street is full of restaurants, small shops, and gas stations, which is right around the corner from downtown. On a night walk through Sanger, I took a camera and a tripod and was ready for inspiration to hit. The street filled with lights inspired me and caught my attention; there was so much color. Everything looked so vibrant in the dark. I thought it was so cool how different things looked at night. Sanger is full of adventure. We have the Blossom Trail; we are the Nature's Christmas Tree City, and our small town is so full of life. I wanted my photo to bring attention to the adventurous city that it is, surrounded by mountains and valleys, fields and blossoms, rivers and wildlife. Sanger is a beautiful city full of adventure, and it's my city.
