This is a light. I made it. I think this is innovation because you can see how the light works. You need wires, a battery, and a light bulb. All you have to do to turn it on is to connect the wires. You connect the red wire to one side and the black to the other.

This photo is innovation because in Pakistan they are building a huge dam which would provide energy to millions of people across the country and help many people. The truck was getting supplies to help build the dam. I think it’s the perfect picture for innovation because Pakistan is moving up a lot and building many more things to help out the country.

From the ancient world to our modern civilization today, there are differences, but there is a similarity - the brewing of new ideas. Everyday, we aim to be the perfect, functioning system of an expectation we’ve put on ourselves. Our society constantly scraps the “old” and replaces it with the new norm. However, just because something may seem perfect at the moment, doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement.

I think that my photograph relates to “innovation” because a long time ago, we never had cars. Over the years, the evolution of cars was updated greatly. The first car ever looked like a tricycle with a gas engine. Now, we have electric cars that can go on autopilot.

"Innovation" is the development of new ideas and products that impact and change the life of people in many ways. Cable cars were first introduced in San Francisco to replace horse-drawn carriages, which were not suited to navigate the hilly landscape of San Francisco. Cable car lines once covered the entirety of the city and provided a newer and easier mode of transport. However, as transportation continued to develop, there were newer and cheaper ways, such as buses and cars, that slowly replaced cable cars over the years.
In the modern day, cable cars are mainly for tourists and there are only a couple of lines remaining. The cable car reflected by the side mirror of the car reveals how we drive past the history of innovation every day. Even cars are continually developed, leading to electric cars and even the next innovative goal of self-driving cars. There is an endless cycle of innovation in tempo with the ever-changing world.
In my photo, the cable car is blurry and behind the car, showing how as we continue to develop and create newer inventions, older innovations are left behind.

I set up the two watches on my desk. My photo relates to this year’s theme because it shows how technology has improved. Watches started off as wrist watches that use batteries. Now, some watches use chargers instead of batteries. Watches now have touchscreens and it’s digital, such as Apple Watches. Old watches could only tell time, now new watches can track your steps and play music. They connect to your phone so you can look at photos or send messages. Watches have changed very much over the past decades, maybe in the future they will improve even more.

I took this photo at a particular area that was surrounded by various plants or trees, but amidst the nature were these tall structures leading back to the buildings. I found it almost as a bridge or opening from nature into the urban life that we live in now, which is why I though of it as innovation. It represents a transformation from the urban life from living within nature.

This photo was taken during my family's trip up the mountain to go tubing. There was so much snow that our tubing got cancelled, however we still went up the mountain just to see how beautiful if was. I believe that this picture of a chairlift displays the theme of innovation because of man's creativity in solving the problem of getting up the mountain. This was an amazing experience and I am glad that I got to come across this beautiful scenery.

My photo describes innovation because fans have changed so much. There used to be handheld paper fans, then an early version of an electric fan, now we have electric ceiling fans.

At the end of everyday, you can see the sun set. With a day ending, a new day starts. Sunsets represent the closing of a chapter, the flipping of a page, a new beginning. If you are lucky, you will end your day, with a beautiful, Hawaiian sunset. And yet, how many people miss out because they are filling themselves with social media indoors!

The Supreme Fairfax location opened up in 2004, since then the store has been a huge success. I took this picture because the Supreme brand has transformed streetwear into fashionable wear providing innovative styles and collaborations the world has never seen. Throughout the world celebrities have helped create traction to this prominent brand. You can spot celebrities such as, Tyler the Creator, A$AP Rocky, Drake, and a lot more wearing Supreme throughout the years of their careers. Recently, the Fairfax location has closed down just missing its 20th anniversary, but it’s new bigger location is on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, California.
This photo was shot and developed on 35mm film.

This photograph was taken outside my Lola’s (grandmother's) house with my iPhone camera. I always admired the tree in front of our cement walkway leading up to the front of the door. The tree always stood out to me throughout the passing seasons, whether it had green leaves, blossoming pink flowers, bright yellow flowers, or just bare branches.
My photograph portrays the theme of innovation by depicting the growth rooting from one tree and branching on to create unique additions like the flowers that blossom. The definition of innovation to me means introducing new ideas onto an element to construct and flourish upon a fresher form, meaning, and character. The building of additional ideas is similar to the structure and transformation of a tree. The tree branches push and support the flowers which are the generated ideas that are bloomed and grow from the main element. Every flower is unique in its development and consists of different colors, shapes, and smells - representing a varying range of ideas. The tree branches and flowers help each other connect, create stability, and weave while they are attached to the foundational trunk.
In addition, I believe the planting of trees globally symbolizes the spreading of ideas throughout communities and how they can resonate with their shared intent of flourishing. As trees surround us, the rising of new ideas within their bark develops and strengthens the natural connection. From seeds to trees to branches leading to the blossom of flowers, a small and centralized concept is able to branch into novel ideas. Furthermore, humans revolve around trees, just like how the production of new ideas of everyday innovations in society causes the world to survive, be transformed, and evolve.
