I saw the sun starting to set, so I had my mom watch the streets so I could take my photo. I called my sister outside because I felt that she'd fit my photograph the best. She always likes to take adventures no matter the risk. This photo was taken in the street of my front yard. My photo relates to this year's theme "Adventure" because you step into your own path of adventure. If you follow the road, you don't know what kind of adventure it holds for you. Where would it take you? What would I experience? Every pair of shoes hold their own special kind of adventure. If you put on a pair of dance shoes, you'll step into an adventure of many genres, and you don't know when the path could end. No matter what shoes you wear, they hold a special, one-of-a-kind adventure. So, in the end, keep following the path that your shoes lead you to because you'll end up with an adventure in the end of it.

Our class went on a hike to Adobe Falls. It was a quick adventure to get some exercise with my friends. This is a portrait of me with friends being goofy.

I took this photo on a safari in South Africa with my family. It was a very meaningful and important experience. I learned a lot about the animals there. My personal favorite animal that I saw was the zebra because of its beautiful stripes and uniqueness.

This photo was taken from the rooftop of my house. Our roof is flat and perfect for capturing sunset pictures.
This ties in with the theme of adventure because every day is a new adventure and you never know what kind of beauty your day will bring you. If you’re lucky enough, you get to see magical sunsets like this.
This photo was taken last summer and reminded my mom and me of a Renaissance painting.

Personally, this photo means so much more to me than one may think, not because of the photo itself, but the trip connected to this shot.

This was the last trip I ever had with my dad before he passed away. Trips with my dad were always an adventure, spending our days exploring the places we visit. I know he would want me to keep taking photos. He even offered to buy me a nice camera and fund everything to keep me going despite his financial situation. (He was a very harsh critic and never was afraid to tell people his opinions, so if he thought something was good, he really did). We never got around to that. I will try my best to continue making my dad proud.

It’s funny, both of my parents were professional photographers for a very long time and into my early childhood, but I wasn't into photography. I only started taking photographs on this trip just because I oddly felt like it. I take my new found hobby as my dad’s final gift to me, he passed it on to me in our last time together. He said I shot better than him and I had something. I’ll take his word for it. I miss you dad, I think about you every time I look at this photo.

This photo was in Half Moon Bay during said trip, this was a last minute photo I decided to take where I had to shield my lens out of frame from the glare, this resulted in the very nice, bright, high exposure that helped black out the silhouettes. There is no post processing in this image.

It’s always nice to experience some sort of adventure, this not being an exception. What the picture shows here is a sunset at Pismo Beach, California, on July 30, 2023, that I took while sitting on the sand with my family with the intention of watching it. I see this as an adventure because we went miles away from our home to go to the beach. It was thrilling to see everything that was happening around us, hearing the waves, which sometimes got very close to the shore, seeing what people were doing around us, and also seeing some fire in the distance are all examples that made the experience great, the sunset just adding to it. This is why I chose this picture to use for this competition. Even with the calming atmosphere, it still felt refreshing and exciting, this being how I feel anytime I go to Pismo.

I took this photo while walking at the beach, on the pier with my family. The waves were crashing, the sun was setting, and the sky was beautiful. I thought about how grateful I am to live so close to one of the most beautiful places in California. Every time I go to the beach it feels like an adventure. Hearing the waves crash and the smell of the salty air, with the vibrant red and orange colors as the sun is setting, are mesmerizing. I always make amazing memories, and photography allows me to capture those moments and look back at them.

This photo was taken when I went on a hike with my mom and dad. We were walking on top of Table Mountain located in Jamestown, CA. This photo relates to the theme by it being taken while on an adventure with my family. I’ve recently started to get into photography and join 4-H and will be submitting a photo at our local fair in July.

This was taken during a family road trip where we came across these alters that rose even taller than the trees around us. I have always found myself fascinated with Greek mythology. However, in truth, we were going around an art museum of some sort but I still thought that the stories meticulously carved into these buildings made my mouth agape in awe. It felt like all of Greek's ancient history was just presented to us as we walked around--quite the adventure for a tourist spot.

The door is the door of my house and the photos were taken in a park near my school. This relates to the theme because it shows some adventurers exploring a forest through a door.

Taken in a yard now overtaken by nature, this place that once was sacred, adventures of a little soul were made. Now the soul has moved on from the little ideas and tiny adventures and has moved on to bigger adventures leaving what was in the past to decay. The soul has grown into a butterfly and can fly free.
