My photo was taken in Death Valley at night looking up at the stars with a mountain peak in the foreground. I was taking a trip to Death Valley over winter break to visit lots of different sites to see the beauty in the desert. My photograph relates to participate because looking at it makes the viewer want to go out and look at the stars in the middle of nowhere. The newer generations are more focused on their technological devices rather than the beauty on earth.

I took this photo at school with two of my closest friends. We were walking around campus for my elective class, and then we went into the school garden. I had my other friend get on the floor and make a heart shape with her hands. She did, and it took many tries before I could get my friends into the perfect position, where they both fit into the heart. I love this picture because my two closest friends are in it. This photo relates to participate because my friends participated by going through all the time it took to get the right shot. My other friend also showed participation by making the heart shape with her hands. They went out of their way to get the perfect picture.

I am participating in breakfast with my family by cooking it. Our breakfast consists of sweet potato and onion then we have turkey bacon, paleo pancakes and most important the eggs. I’m cooking the potato with onions and then the eggs. My mom will fry up the bacon and my dad will be flipping pancakes.

This photo was taken in the art room of my house. My mom has a full time job, and she works very hard yet she spends all of her extra time making clothes and expanding her creative side. She is simply participating in her passions. Having hobbies like these is not required in a persons life, but it makes life that much more pleasurable.

This photo was taken at Disneyland after the park closed. They let people stick around for a bit before making them leave, so I took the opportunity to take snap some photos. This photograph relates to participating because my sister was celebrating her birthday at Disneyland, but one of her friends canceled late. She didn't have anyone to go with, so I decided to participate in her celebration by going with her. I ended up having a great time and my favorite part was at around midnight when the park was completely empty and silent. It was so peaceful and it contrasted the usual bustle. Being surrounded by all of the lights of Main Street in a quiet environment is something I won't soon forget.

With the growing prevalence of social media in 2019, rising standards for beauty are constantly being presented to us, whether it’s through instagram, twitter, or snapchat. We feel the need to participate in the beauty trends we are constantly exposed to in any attempt to meet the expectations of these standards.
I took this photo in the bathroom of my house. I wanted to depict the feeling of pressure to participate in the surplus of beauty trends that social media presents so many of us with on a daily basis. I asked my friend, Nicole, to be my model because I know that she, like I, has experienced this pressure.

This photo connects to the theme of participation because it was taken at a wild animal park. The lemurs were in a big open space, filled with trees, large grass space, and plenty of objects to climb on. All of the people at the park are able to feed and engage with the lemurs. Many of the lemurs embraced their mischievous attitude, and touched people's belongings as if it was their own.
