this picture to me is a sign of participation not only from how it shows it, but also what it means. when you see bolded letters like this, it draws attention to the eye. while i was walking and saw this image it made me automatically look at it. i saw the words “stay behind the yellow line” and it made me want to listen. the reasoning for this is as i said before, but here is why i feel it has a big in participation. the people making this wanted to have a huge role by participating in the safety of the people in the area. meaning that the phrase “stay behind the yellow line” not only means to stay behind it, but it also means that if you were to not stay behind it, it would not only affect you, but the people around you and the ones you love dearly. so when i looked at this simple statement in the metro train station, i thought of the theme of this contest and it made me realize how little things just like this being out around the city participate in the civilians safety.

Participate, to take part in something that can be familiar or unfamiliar to you. People all around the world are taking their time to be involved with doing something new and special with friends and family. People come together to spend quality time and appreciate life. While kids enjoy jumping up and down in the playground, parents enjoy have conversations with other adults. These people are participating by making new friends and making new special moments. There are many different ways to participate in the world. This is just one of them.

P art of the reason for taking this picture is because it shows the team and how they work together as one.
A ggressiveness in volleyball is because the whole team wants to make the play that helps the team.
R eady position is what everyone on the court is in when they are ready for the ball to come to them.
T eamwork in volleyball is essential in getting the bump, set, spike then point to come.
I participate in volleyball by passing and diving for every ball that comes near me, and getting ready to hit the ball that is set to me.
C overing for our teammates shows we have their backs and we are ready for the ball to come right backover.
I n the word participation, there is a word called anticipator, which in volleyball is really good because you need to read where the ball is going so you can call it early and not just watch it drop.
P assing the ball is one of three main points in volleyball that you need, for it leads to a good set and hit over the net.
A true volleyball player tries their best and participates while paying attention to the occurring play so they can help carry the team.
T andems in volleyball is when a blocker blocks immediately after the other, showing they were ready for a play to happen right away.
E ach player on our team participates in volleyball by being ready for a quick play, covering for their teammates, and playing as a team, and not as an individual.

"“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.” -Aristotle

Participating in something is a blessing that many people don’t always get to have. To be a part of something so great and work hard to be successful is the true meaning of participating to me. You have to work hard and make mistakes every once in awhile to say that you truly participated and become successful.

Participate is to be involved in an activity or event. In this photo I am accompanying my brother to participate in my house. The participation I am showing is walking my dog. The different photo colors show sadness and happiness as my dog is sad when he is not walking with us. Participation is huge in my family or else our lives would be hectic.

Participate for a common cause relates to the 2019 digital photography theme "Participate." I photographed this rain pouring march on January 14, 2019, the first walkout since 1989 by the United Teachers of Los Angeles.

It has been 30 years since over ten of thousands teachers participated in the memorable march on issues beyond salary increases namely; class size, standardized testing reduction, counseling, health and human service, and teacher positions. The picture gives a meaningful message and hope to the people who participated in the march because as the saying goes "there is always light at the end of the tunnel."

I am the child of immigrant parents. It took bravery for them to move to a new country and start a new life. My parents were brave coming to America and have worked very hard to participate in the American Dream. I know many immigrant families who were brave to start a new life in America and want to participate in the American Dream. The candles in this photo represent their continued hope. The two students, in the center front, have words painted onto their clothes of love, family, dream, free, hope…… The immigrant students I know are working hard for good grades, family values, and community. They have jobs to help support their families and are waiting to participate in their American Dream.

For me, photography is how I participate in creativity and express myself. These are my friends and photography buddies. We set up a photoshoot with another friend to model. After the model took a break and was getting ready to model again, I took this picture of my friends getting ready to shoot again. Creativity is participating in expressing my life and how I see the world.

This is my friend Chris after he asked his girlfriend to marry him. He asked me to photograph them during the special surprise moment. She did not know he was going to ask her to marry him. To me when you join together with someone for life you are participating in something bigger, becoming more than just yourself to create something sacred.

In today's times, I believe it is important for children to participate in activities that are meaningful to them. This is my younger sister participating in her jazz dance class. Since starting her dance classes 2 years ago, she has built confidence, made friends, and become a happier child. Her classes also teach her to never give up and keep trying to become the best dancer she can be. In this picture, my sister is turning towards a mirror looking at her posture and the hard work she has put into practicing every day. It is allowing her to be creative in her own way. This is all a result of her continuing participation in the art of dance.

This picture shows participation in the way that the one student on the left is really paying attention to the paper and the things on it. The other student on the right is just looking on the left work. The student on the left even though the student on the right is is not focused at all, the student on the left is still doing work not bothered at all by the kid on the right. I feel like this just really represents participation.
