In Taiwan, I participated in a class trip to the rural city of Hualien to experience the life as a farmer. I was amazed by the scenery that just couldn't be seen in the city. There were no buildings and not many cars. It was just acres and acres of farmland planted with wheat, and a small road that streached far across the land. You could also clearly see the mountains ahead. It was so peaceful and quiet compared to the bustling streets in the city. When I saw this unreal scenery, I quickly whipped out my camera and snapped a shot before my friends could block my view.

The photo was taken In my house at my diner table. This photo portrays the theme participate because the people in my photo are communicating while playing a game of Uno. I chose this photo because of the facial expressions of the people and the movement of the cards.

In this photo, I wanted to capture a loving father and his curious daughter, who participate with each other to learn new things about different aspects of life. For example, the daughter is learning about a whole new world of music- one that she has never discovered before. The father is discovering the feelings of compassion and contentment towards his fairly young daughter. I took this photo in the office of my house, trying to capture a candid photo of these two people participating with each other, each one discovering new features of life.

I remember the day that I went I was looking for something to take a picture of. I was looking for history but I was also looking for something that we may not see. Then I realized that I wasn't looking up like half the people around me. I looked up as I was walking, and I saw the ceiling that with the steel-like panels and the see-through spaces and spots you can just barely see the sky from. The building and all of the art holds a big part of our history. We just have to remember to look up from our devices and participate in what is around us.
