This photo was taken at Dodge Ridge Ski Resort, on a run called Bone Yard. I wanted to show that participate can not only mean spending time with other people, it can be simply getting up off your couch and having a day outside. Take part in something out of your comfort zone, see where it gets you. You may end up actually liking it.

My mom and father frequently converse with us about college or our future. My sister and I constantly feel the pressure to participate. Often times, it feels more like an interrogation than a conversation. The pressure to think about my future is overwhelming. In my family, there is a need to participate in school activities or anything that will prepare me for college.

I took this photo at my old elementary school in my mother's garden class. It shows the students pressing down the seeds they just planted. This photo shows much more than participation; it gives us hope that the younger generation is going to respect nature and know where their food comes from. It shows them getting down on their little hands and feet and actually putting their hands in the dirt. They're experiencing something they may have never done in their life. They're doing something that benefits not only themselves but the world around them. Overall they're not just participating they are doing much more than participating.

After school, our school's swim team meets at the swim deck to do two hours of continuous swimming. Some find swimming and sports as a escape from stress. Some might see competitive swimming as the fastest someone can move their arms and the biggest waves they can make. However, on the contrary, the way to win is behind the technique. Like they say, slow and steady wins the race.

It was a Tuesday night, and I was at my weekly youth group. We were worshiping God, and I thought in my mind what a beautiful picture this would be. I grabbed my phone out of my back pocket and took the picture. I loved the picture because I loved the song they were singing.
This picture corresponds to participate because the people in the picture are participating in worshiping God. If you really think about it everybody is always participating, because if you're walking you are participating in God’s land. So worshiping my Lord is participating.

In our family room, we have a pretty chandelier so I took a picture of it from an angle and got a beautiful golden chandelier in a perfect picture. This chandelier lights the room and enables my family to participate together, spend time together under one shared light that participates with all of us.

Three old friends greeting each other at the Pow Wow. Pow Wow is a chance for all generations and nations of tribes to participate in days of enjoying each other and competitions. For me to see these to old friends still participating in the continuation of their culture was amazing.

This picture was taken inside of my house. We have had one of our dogs for 10 years, and we recently got a puppy of the same breed. The older dog really prides herself in "guarding" the house, barking at every sound she hears outside. The younger puppy loves to do whatever the older dog is doing, and tries to figure out what to do. In this picture, our puppy tried to impress the older dog, participating in guarding the house. They both are looking out of the door, ready to bark at anyone who comes near.
