Love is the glue that keeps our society from falling apart. Love creates bonds incentivising creatures to stick together. Without Love, there is no reason to try, no reason to keep going, and no reason not to give up. The concept of love is a phenomena unlike any other. Seen in everything from complex creatures like humans, to animals as small as fish. On a fundamental level, we are the universe, looking at itself- the universe loving itself, and as organisms with brains, we are the universe at its peak potential, creating reasons to experience the wonders of life. Love is everything, and it's everywhere; a phenomena worth appreciating.

Abruptly, accidentally, immediately are people’s responses whenever asked, “How did you fall in love?” Love’s occurrence happens in its own form, normally without the person’s knowledge, embodying the philosophy of phenomena. It is unidentifiable sometimes, and has no boundaries. Everyone is surrounded by the love of their friends, family, and significant others. They are the ones that shouldn’t be taken for granted and should be appreciated and treasured more than anything else. They are also, for many of us, our main motivator and driving force during times of accomplishment, challenge, and depression. In other words, love is both amorphous yet distinct depending on the person, place, or time.

When most people see fighters, they think of violence and anger.  I have known many fighters. It is a discipline of physical strength and psychological balance. All the fighters I have known are quiet, peace-loving and non-violent outside of the ring. This is my friend Leo who fights and teaches self-knowledge and peace through discipline. To me, it is a phenomena of what people think and what reality is.

Why are wildflowers a phenomena, you ask? Well the whole big bang is widely debated phenomena. Therefore isn't all natural life created by Earth a little phenomena in itself? Something as gorgeous as a flower holds such a deeper phenomenal meaning.

The pink mask provides a mysterious element to the photo, because it brings up the question of how it got there and what it's for.

This photo was taken in Yosemite National Park. It fits this year's theme because the reflection makes it seem like a portal to another world, which is a phenomena.

The photo was taken in a garden at a park. These flowers I was able to capture were just so beautiful I couldn´t not take a picture of them. They are phenomena to me by how easily the colors are able to flow into each other without throwing you off. The textures in the photo also make it flow and guide your eye.

We were just entering the freeway while my mom was taking me to my tutor in the evening. We were just in a deep conversation about how people should appreciate the natural world and observe its serene beauty. Due to this, I particularly noticed the unique sunset during this particular evening. Unlike most sunsets where the night sky is a warm mix of reds, oranges, and yellows, this sunset was very different. The phenomena that I observed was a cool flow of purples, blues, and magenta. I believe that the windiness and the blurriness outside which is present in the bottom of this photo enhances this phenomena and provides it with and additional layer of uniqueness and beauty.

The recreational parks all around the school is one of the beauties of our city.

This was the last day of 2019, so I took a walk with my sister. We talked about how our 2019 was and looking back I noticed that 2019 was full of unpleasant phenomena. It came to my mind that what I thought was so miserable and unbearable were actually the factors that allowed me to grow. This photo symbolizes myself in between 2019 and 2020 looking back. I am able to learn different lessons through my troubles and walk towards 2020. At the moment everything can look devastating and painful, but those events are what I am founded upon.

The photo was taken at a park. The picture was phenomenal because the tree was reflecting on my phone. This was a creative master piece.

This photo was taken in my kitchen and is the bottom of one glass cup that has green soap in the bottom of it. It was taken while I was holding the cup slanted to get the soap to move more towards the camera and reflect more light like the glass cup. To me it is a "phenomena" because the glass refraction and the soap create an abstract event of such a simple event of cleaning a glass cup.

I had recently moved into my home and the view of the sunrise had always taken me aback. Therefore, I wanted to capture the moment. It is a phenomena because it is a natural occurrence that cannot be controlled by humans, but can always be admired.

This was taken on the bus. Rock and Roll was truly a phenomena, a reflection of its time and the generation that inspired it.

At one of my cross country meets, I had a friend stand on his hands and pretend like he was running upside down. While it seemed like a silly concept, the result was a representation of a phenomenon called "runner's high", which I have experienced myself as a runner. At a certain point during a run or a race, your body seems to float and leave your mind and soul flying across the ground. It is in these moments that I feel no pain, yet I am straining to continue forward. This is one of life's greatest pleasures. This is why I run, and this is why I create art.

The phenomena that takes place in my photograph is discovering a spider on the water fountain. Neither my friend or I knew what type of spider it was, but it looked like a little hairy crab.

How I wish
I was a fish
My day would begin
Flapping my fins
I'd make a commotion
Out in the ocean
It would be cool
To swim in a school
In the sea
I'd move so free
With just one thought
Don't get caught

Located in Page, AZ, Antelope Canyon is home to the Navajo Nation. It’s filled with wind and water carvings, leaving unique structures that are left up to the observer’s imagination to determine.

In this work of art, I wanted to capture the true beauty of being content with the small things in life. In this photograph that I captured, I witnessed a deprived and underprivileged child scavenge for leftover cookies in a trash bin. The way his face lit up with pure happiness was truly a moment I’ll remember forever. He found a way to find simple happiness in the moment with something so small as finding some cookies. I have learned to never take anything for granted and knowing there are billions of people who struggle to live life to their desired capabilities.
