Traverse, to move through or travel across an area. While on an adventure, especially within California, most Californians within the Central Valley tend to travel through places such as San Luis. This photo was taken at the San Luis Reservoir, California’s State Recreation Area. I took this photo on the 28th of January this year while on a family trip.
Every year my family and I travel to Pebble Beach, and just as many other families travel to the coastline from the valley, we pass the San Luis Reservoir. I'm 18 and ever since I can remember, every time I've seen the reservoir while on a trip, I'd be stunned. It's a beautiful place that many who pass, tend to stop and often embrace while on their own journeys.
I call this place the Traverse, it's my nickname for it since it's a large place that many travel through while on their own adventures. I believe this photo perfectly captures what it means to be adventuring through California because of it. It leaves a memorable experience while you're out on an adventure.

You are consistently learning and exploring life with your partner. You will go through life together experiencing the highs and lows, continuously making the choice and effort to stay and achieve together, and it makes life all much more beautiful and adventurous.
Twists and Turns
The photo was taken in my school's TV/Film room. The photograph relates to the theme of "adventure" because love is always an adventure. Love has its own twists and turns. You are consistently learning and exploring life with your partner. You will go through life together experiencing the highs and lows, continuously making the choice and effort to stay and achieve together, and it makes life all much more beautiful and adventurous.
Adventure is an amalgam of things, interactions, and emotions. An emotion present in most, if not all, adventures is uncertainty. When only the body is present on the tracks, any sort of positioning instrumentation stripped away, uncertainty is inevitable. There is no way of telling where the closest train is, and that is a thought that only breeds unease. That thought, however, and its nature of discomfort, can be tied directly to adventure because of one of adventure’s core components; uncertainty.

Staring at the moon from down here, it looks so pretty. I wonder what it’s like up there. Although we might not be able to travel to the moon, we can always imagine. How does the Earth look from there? How does it feel to walk on the moon or to just sit there in silence? The moonlight is so pretty, it looks so magical, so…adventurous.
Adventure doesn't always have to be traveling somewhere like how most people would say, sometimes you can find it just by looking up at the night sky. If I were to land on the moon, would there be aliens like in the rumors or perhaps the Moon Goddess from “Over the Moon”? Maybe I am just lucky to be standing here, under the moonlight.

I took this image at my uncle's farm in Virginia where he has a lot of open land for his two horses to explore. Even though I was just outside his house, I felt like I was going on an adventure whenever I went outside to spend time with the horses because of the openness of the land and the brightness of the green grass. It made me feel so far away from the loud cities I am used to, and I wanted to capture the freeing and peaceful feelings that I experienced exploring the beautiful environment under the bright sun with the horses.

It was low tide and the waves gently rolled onto the seagull’s feet. The seagull was hesitant about the soft call he heard from the ocean and looked to the side, uncertain.
I have always been mystified of sea adventures on a dangerous ship with crashing waves along its bow or cruising along calm waters with peaceful sunsets. My ancestors were fishermen and farmers, so I hear the call of the ocean. In this picture, like the seagull, I have two feet planted on solid ground waiting and calculating my next steps as a student trying to navigate through middle school. There are many possibilities to choose from life; and yet, the pressure of the rolling waves represents the pressure to succeed and choose who I want to be. I know life will be an adventure and I need to muster enough courage to pursue my passion to succeed.
