Description:
I took this photo in my classroom which is sometimes referred to as the thrift store (likely because it contains 90% thrifted materials from our community). I collect everything until one of my students shows an interest and then I part with my collections or use them to enhance my art class and photography.

I staged a table with some packing crates and old skulls and fur that I had in my closet. I borrowed a petri dish and some tools from the science lab. I dug out a cool activity titled "anatolab" from the thrift store and spread the skeletal plastic contents onto the fur. Soon I realized that I would need some fantasy to be infused...

...so I filled the plastic bodies with shells and rocks and added some lighting with posed tweezers and other found objects helping me fake the investigation. I wanted it to be a more fantastic story than a crime scene investigation. I envisioned shakras of energy being emitted from the objects being explored.

With a lens flare at the top of the image I hope to create a formal presentation and evoke a sense of ethereal investigation: searching our inner selves for larger answers to eternal questions
